Are you ready to be part of the enchanting world of events and wine? As an events Wine Waiter, you’ll play a pivotal role in elevating celebratory gatherings to unforgettable experiences. Your customer service, will create a delightful ambiance and leave a lasting impression on guests special occasions.

Roles and Responsibilities for Wine Waiting:

  • Confident opening a corked wine bottle and champagne bottle.
  • Friendly and confident to interact with guests.
  • Confident pouring and serving wine correctly.
  • Product Knowledge- understand what you are serving.
  • Till/ PDQ Trained.
  • Trained in and understand licencing laws.
  • Ability to hold a drinks tray correctly.
  • Understand when and how to replenish the drinks tray.

Wine Service:

  • Product Knowledge.
  • Be able to open a bottle correctly.
  • Understand when to replenish wine.
  • Be able to pour wine correctly to achieve the ideal pour.
  • Understanding of glassware and serve wine correctly.

Clearing:

  • Understand when to clear glass.
  • Be able to clear glass to a tray correctly.

Requirements:

  • Have completed a training session in the Host Office.
  • Asked to complete Flow Training Modules in Food Allergens, Health and Safety & Food Safety level 1.
  • Smart, polite, professional and always well presented.
  • Ability to follow instructions from event manager.

Having a flexible attitude is a key attribute for any role we offer, as the demands of each event can vary greatly. In this role, adaptability is essential, as shift responsibilities and roles may change based on the unique requirements of each celebration. From setting up wine service stations and engaging with guests to offering wine recommendations and collaborating with the catering team you may be required to assist with food service, the duties can be diverse and ever-changing. Embracing this flexibility allows the Events Wine Waiter to seamlessly adjust and ensure that each event receives personalized, exceptional service, creating memorable experiences that perfectly match the occasion’s spirit and atmosphere.

Timekeeping:

At Host we take timekeeping extremely seriously. You are expected to be ready for work at the booking time sharp. Your briefing will be scheduled and a late arrival will affect the operation so please allow yourself extra time to get changed into your uniform as well as for unexpected travel disruption. We recommend you aim to arrive 15 mins early to your shifts to prevent complications. If you arrive late to work you may be sent home without pay. (1 minute past the shift start time is considered late).
