As the Bar Manager, you will be an integral part of our management team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our bar. Your leadership and expertise will contribute to maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, optimising profitability, and fostering a positive work environment for our staff.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Client to find out their exact event requirements.
  • Coordinate suppliers, handle client queries and troubleshoot on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly.
  • Oversee multiple event bars and delegate duties to bar supervisors.
  • Completing opening and closing stock counts.
  • Management of beverage stock levels.
  • Recording the opening and closing beverage count.
  • Able to identify duties and effectively delegate these to staff for example- demonstrate Bar set up/ stock count.
  • Able to cash tills up if cash manager is not present.
  • Leading the beverage team to upsell and drive business.
  • Thorough knowledge of wines, spirits, mixers and servings.
  • Understand how to set up/ deliver service on both a cash and package bar.
  • Managing customer flow/queues to ensure the bars are operating effectively.
  • Brief staff on serving bottled beer, a glass of wine, spirit & mixer and soft drinks.
  • Ensuring the bar is operating lawfully: ID check, refusal of service and correctly briefing staff on the importance.
  • Ensure all beverages are served at correct specifications.
  • Manage the cash sale till and generate reports.
  • Confident opening a corked wine bottle and champagne bottle.
  • Eye for detail - keeping the bar area tidy, clearing dirty glasses etc.
  • Confidently hold briefings for beverage team.
  • High levels of presentation and event design style to ensure the bars are dressed correctly.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed.
  • Produce post-event evaluation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bar Manager (Previous experience or completed shifts with Host)
  • Knowledge of beverage and servings.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
  • Till/ PDQ trained.
  • Excellent customer service skills/ the ability to assist with customer queries/complaints and resolve issues in a calm and professional manner.
  • Trained in and thoroughly understand licencing laws.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods.
  • Smart, polite, professional and always well presented.
  • Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
