As a hospitality bartender, you will be representing our clients, ensuring that guests have an exceptional and memorable experience. Your role as bar staff will be dynamic, fast-paced, and customer-focused.

Here are the key expectations we have for you in this role:

1. Customer Service Excellence:

  • Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Engage with guests, taking drink orders, and recommending beverages based on their preferences.
  • Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of our drink menu and the ability to answer any customer queries.
  • Provide efficient and courteous service, ensuring that guests’ needs are met promptly and with a smile.

2. Beverage Preparation and Presentation:

  • Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, beers, wines, and spirits, following standard recipes and techniques.
  • Present drinks attractively and garnish them creatively to enhance the overall visual appeal.
  • Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and well-stocked, with an ample supply of glassware, ingredients, and beverages.

3. Responsible Alcohol Service:

  • Adhere to all relevant alcohol service regulations and company policies to ensure responsible drinking among guests.
  • Monitor customer behavior and identify signs of intoxication, taking appropriate measures as needed.
  • Handle any difficult situations with tact and professionalism, seeking assistance from management when required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Correctly serving bottled beer, a glass of wine, spirit & mixer and soft drinks.
  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
  • Understand the perfect serve on bottled beer, a glass of wine, spirit & mixer and soft drinks.
  • Ability to pour and serve pints.
  • Assist with opening and closing stock counts.
  • Keep the bar area tidy, clearing dirty glasses.
  • Flexibility to help with other areas once bar work is complete, for example helping with food service and event break down.
  • High levels of presentation and event design style to ensure the bars are dressed correctly.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of bartending of 1 year or more.
  • Attended training session in the Host Office.
  • Asked to complete Flow Training Modules in Food Allergens, Health and Safety & Food Safety level 1.
  • Experienced in service on both a cash and package bar.
  • Till/ PDQ Trained.
  • Good knowledge of wines, spirits, mixers.
  • Smart, polite, professional and always well presented.
  • Trained in and understand licencing laws.
  • Confident opening a corked wine bottle and champagne bottle.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods.

Timekeeping:

At Host we take timekeeping extremely seriously. You are expected to be ready for work at the booking time sharp. Your briefing will be scheduled and a late arrival will affect the operation so please allow yourself extra time to get changed into your uniform as well as for unexpected travel disruption. We recommend you aim to arrive 15 mins early to your shifts to prevent complications. If you arrive late to work you may be sent home without pay. (1 minute past the shift start time is considered late).
