Cloakroom attendants look after coats, bags and other items for guests. Your main duty will be to check in and keep personal belongings safe and return them to the owners when they leave. However, while the guests are in the event you might be asked to help with other duties related to the service.
Roles and Responsibilities for Host Cloakroom Staff:
- Knowledge of how a cloakroom works - ticketing items.
- Organises cloakroom area to sufficiently create a logical order.
- Spatial awareness to maximise number of guest belongings fitting within the cloakroom space.
- Understands the layout of the venue to answer queries from guests such as location of toilets or smoking area.
- Able to work quickly and efficiently to avoid queues building up.
- Work tidily and orderly to ensure the turnaround or de rig is as efficient as it can be.
- Assist with other duties on events if cloakroom is quiet- i.e. assist with food service, clear glassware Keep surrounding areas in check- including clear all rubbish and glassware.
- Comfortable working long often late hours while remaining alert and courteous at all times.
- Have a duty of care while looking after customers belongings and notifying the event manager of any unclaimed items at the end of the event.
Requirements:
- Attended training session in the Host Office.
- Asked to complete Flow Training Modules: Food Safety Level 1, Health and Safety and Food Allergens.
- Smart, polite, professional and always well presented.
- Organised and efficient.
- Ability to follow instructions from event manager.
Timekeeping:
At Host we take timekeeping extremely seriously. You are expected to be ready for work at the booking time sharp. Your briefing will be scheduled and a late arrival will affect the operation so please allow yourself extra time to get changed into your uniform as well as for unexpected travel disruption. We recommend you aim to arrive 15 mins early to your shifts to prevent complications. If you arrive late to work you may be sent home without pay. (1 minute past the shift start time is considered late).
