Each payslip you receive while working with Host Staffing may show deductions for Income Tax, National Insurance and pension contributions.
At Host Staffing we are legally required to deduct Tax and National Insurance from your pay if you have reached the taxable threshold.
To avoid paying more tax than necessary and to avoid delays in processing your pay, we must receive your P45 (or a completed HMRC starter checklist) along with your National Insurance number before you begin working for any of our clients.
Here’s an illustrative example of how deductions might look on a weekly payslip (exact figures depend on your tax code, your earnings and the current tax year’s rates):
| Example weekly payslip | Amount |
|---|---|
| Gross pay (40 hours × £13.00) | £520.00 |
| Income Tax | -£55.65 |
| National Insurance | -£22.24 |
| Pension contribution (if enrolled) | -£20.00 |
| Take-home pay | £422.11 |
