Each payslip you receive while working with Host Staffing may display deducted National Insurance.

National Insurance (NI) is a mandatory contribution that helps fund state benefits such as the NHS and the State Pension. If you are 16 or over and your earnings are above the government’s weekly threshold, we are legally required to deduct employee NI contributions from your pay automatically - you don’t need to do anything.

The thresholds and rates are set by the government and reviewed each tax year. You can find the current rates in the official National Insurance guidance.

Any NI contributions are shown as a separate line on your payslip.

Please make sure we have your correct National Insurance number when you register. If you don’t know it, you can find your National Insurance number on gov.uk.
